long time, no post

so I was good and had all of these posts qued up for when I was on vacation, but then I get back and things are crazy and I haven't posted in forever!  Life has been super busy.  Lots of work stuff, currently traveling for work at the moment!  We babysat my 'rents dogs the week we got back, so we didn't even sleep in our own bed until a week after we got home.  So the house was a mess!  I had soccer tournaments to coach the past two weekends, which ate up all of that time.  I haven't felt this busy in a long time!

Time, time, time, time, time, time

Of the little I have been able to read the news, i noticed that there was one guy whose ability to plan ahead was so impressive, it made national headlines:

whirlwind vacation

well we've been back for a few days now and it seems like I was never gone at all (well except for the faint tan lines).  Here's a little video from our vaca and a collage:

william and davy

So for months now I have been listening to Kate Rusby songs over and over.  This has got to be my favorite one.  I think my favorite thing about her is that she sings old songs, and she writes her own, but you'd never know one from the other...

 Jealousy...

food, yum

I've been taking lots of photos of food lately.  I discovered the food setting on my panasonic and i've loved the photos!  here are a few.

the color isn't off, it's grey ice cream!  it was grape flavored apparently... e sure loved it!

we went and biked around the world festival here in lousiville.  we looked and smelled all the delicious food, and then the huz decided we should get hardees 6 dollar burgars instead...  so we did...

oh, and the night before, we had a bunz burger a friend mushrooms, delish!

finished off our burger and mushrooms with a delicious caramel frappucino, mmmm.

we finish our tour of my weekend eating habits with the lovely bakery, cake flour.  all natural and all good.  we had a chocolate ganache cupcake (to die for) and a blueberry scone (equally delicious and fresh from the oven!)
to showcase the wonderful cupcake again and show off my new camera, feast your eyes upon this.  oh yeah, my point and shoot rocks!

True Blood: it continues...

so as my fascination (obsession) with True Blood grows, so does my interest in everything else I can find about it.  Including this:

Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to go all stalker on Alexander Skarsgaard.  I don't care much for behind the scenes stuff, but I love anything related to the story that you might not get from an episode.  It's like when I was reading the Lord of the Rings and I would actually reference the notes in the back.  Loved that...

Wow, I just referenced Lord of the Rings....  shame.

the after party

after antiquing we headed to our usual madison vineyards for a bottle and a picnic.  when we got there we were shocked to see a rather large crowd.  turns out they were throwing a party!  we had lunch in the shade of a giant umbrella enjoying their great wine, a live band, and some grape stomping.  it was a great surprise!

sunday adventure

huz and I live for sundays, when we get to go on adventures! this sunday we took off with the rents to the queen city antique show near cincinnati. we had a blast, and even tried fried twinkies (but i didn't get a photo!).

hand painted globe, too cool!  i should have checked to see if it opened up...
somehow I didn't come home with any of these beauty's, go me!  there was a wooden duck there for $200!  thse were only $25 and they looked better!
mom picked these up and told me i should buy them and try to plan my halloween costume around them.  ha.  then I tried them on and turned for the picture.  the bright sun combined with the crazy prescription in the lenses led to the unfortuante eyes in this photo... (they're not closed...)
how fun would it be to have all thsee old cans and jars as a display somewhere.  all the color and age is great!
definitely going to have a yellow table and chairs at some point in my life,  just decided.
one lady had tables and tables of pins, they were gorgeous!

24 before 25

so i jumped on the bandwagon and drew up a 24 before 25 list.  24 things I want to do before my 25th birthday.  I'm still working on filling out the list, but I'm pretty happy with what I've come up with so far.  And seeing as I started the list a few months ago, I've even gotten well on my way to completing somethings!

Check it out here.

it's hard for me to remember to break out my camera after not having one for a while.  so i've made an effort to do so when we do things lately.  here are a few photos...

last weekend the iron man was here in louisville.
on friday huz decided he would run it next year.
on saturday we went and watched them practic the swim.

his "iron man" face

on sunday we watched parts of the race on tv and learned that you:
swim 2.4 miles,
bike 112 miles,
and run 26.2 miles
to complete the race.

huz has changed his mind...

basset attack!

warning, basset hounds like your undivided attention.  if they don't receive it, they may just attack you and cover you in drool...

I'll forgive him...

concrete jungle

if you live in the area you're probably aware of the concrete lady.  well mom and I stopped by the other day.  She wanted a flying pig statue, and I snapped a few photos.

dear concrete animal painter, snakes don't have noses like bears, or faces for that matter...

the closest thing we could find to mom's flying pig (or at least the cutest)

have you always wanted a pet rhino of your own but didn't want to deal with the upkeep? Have no fear, the concrete lady is here! pick up this baby with the help of an industrial strength crane and have your very own life-size rhino!

if things don't go well this season, I know where i can pick up some bucks for the huz....

for some reason I couldn't get mom to spring for the concrete version of her dogs, surprising...

yeah I wouldn't be happy being you either...

(who buys this?!?!?!)
