I never know whether I should keep my eyes open or closed during dentist visits. 99% of the time my peepers are closed, but that could be a direct result of the many scary things I've had done to my mouth. It's not pleasant to see all the power tools and blood soaked cotton balls. (damn that 1% being during surgery...) But when I'm just going in for a cleaning, I always feel super awkward keeping my eyes closed the whole time. Of course it makes it a lot less obvious if I were to fall asleep...
