The Universe’s Lost and Found
So I've been wondering, what is the statute of limitations on found items? Things that come to mind involve umbrellas, which from what I understand, are pretty much yours the minute you touch them. I've somehow misplaced at least 3 freaking awesome ones, and the only reasonable explanation I can come up with is someone is walking away with them when I'm not holding on to them, right?
Soccer balls. Being a coach my car is starting to look like a ball pit for giants. I currently have 5 soccer balls in my car that did not belong to me at the beginning of this season. (Of course if I return my player’s) I guess if I keep coaching they'll come in handy. My real question is, when can I take off the old owners name and replace it with my own without feeling like some sort of jerk/thief?
When I was doing research for my recent camera purchase I came across a person on ebay who auctions of the items from a lost and found. I’m having troubles finding them again, but really? They were auctioning off someone’s camera! I’m guessing that their lost and found has some sort of sign on it detailing their policy, but still.
Of course I can’t really complain too much, as I was known in my younger years to go through the lost and found at a certain establishment and claim new clothing for myself. Recently someone left an athletic jacket at my ma’s work. And after a few weeks she brought it to me and I proudly sport that beauty. But she didn’t get any money out of it…
Ideas. Not trying to go all Inception on you (did you see it?) but honestly. You know the story, someone tells you this great idea (a gift, a project, etc.) and you wait around to see them do it, but the time never comes! When is it ok for you to give it a go?

nice hands, feet
so we've all gotten hit in the face and/or missed a catch we shouldn't have, but for a photo of said event to be circulated on a public scale, well that just plain sucks. Sorry dude, and about your face too...

Making Plans
Recently a co worker asked me if I had any good first date ideas. Well I haven’t been on one of those in a long time so experience wasn’t going to be a factor in my suggestions. None the less, I attacked the question with enthusiasm anyway. Here are some of the date ideas my coworkers and I were able to come up with.
1. Go to a winery. There are tons here in Indiana. I especially like Huber’s Orchard and Winery. Their tasting room is in the second story of an old barn. The first story is the shop and dining area. They have an outdoor patio where you can drink your selection and dine on a cheese plate or dinner fare. During the summer months they have free music on the weekends. What makes this place the best is that the wine is GREAT!
2. Get your freak on. Louisville is a great town with tons of spirit. This weekend we’re trying for the World’s Largest Zombie Gathering right on Bardstown road! If Zombie’s aren’t your thing have no fear! How do you feel about Pirates? Next weekend the Frazier Arms Museum is hosting the bid for the World’s Largest Pirate Gathering. Yup, that’s what we do in Kentucky.
3. Speaking of museums, have you checked your local ones out? So what if you’ve grown up in the area and think you know all there is to know about how Louisville Sluggers are made. You don’t and I guarantee a trip through the bat factory will be both enlightening and enjoyable. Not a Louisvillian? Or Kentuckianan for that matter? Just google “(your town) museums” and you’ll get something like this:
(that google never fails to amaze…)
4. Be a townie. Think of that little place you love to visit with the amazing (insert noun) that no one from out of town could ever find. You know the one that you can’t even google ‘cause it doesn’t have a website? Well here in Clarksville there’s this little place called the Widow’s Walk Ice Creamery. Grab a few scoops of chilly delight and sit down to catch the best glimpses of downtown Louisville available.

lately
anyone who knows me (and the huz) knows that we’re not the biggest of spenders. So when I tell you that I recently bought a new camera you can feel free to gasp. I *broke* my camera this past winter and have been lucky enough to have a loaner dslr around to make up for the loss. While I love the photos with the dslr, it’s a pain to lug around. with our upcoming vacation I really didn’t want to take such a fancy (ie expensive to replace) and large camera along, but there would be no way I could travel without a camera! So I went back to the same brand I have had since college and found this lovely little gem! I haven’t had too many chances to test her out, but so far I’m loving it! Check out this little photo I snapped one morning at my desk.
Pretty great for a photo of my desk, right? It’s a Panasonic Lumix DMC FH1
The huz’s best friend, d, came down to visit and we decided to take him to the boat. Double gasp. We hadn’t been to the one here and we decided to make a go of it. While I lost all of my $20, the huz came home with $80! He and D played roulette and every time they won they acted like it was for thousands of dollars instead of their $20. The best is when another guy at the table won close to $1,000 on the same roll as huz and D, and my guys were the ones cheering the loudest. Also props to JH for paying such close attention to my slot machine, that she won $10 and didn’t even notice. It was great to have you along! (why didn’t I get a picture of us? Gah!)
And new for this season, fantasy football. I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose horribly. The draft didn't go so well. I mistakenly drafted at least 2 players with injuries. One who is out for at least half a season! but you know I had to do the rest of it right, here's my team name/logo:
you're scared of us, i just know it...
and speaking of being scared, my newest addiction is True Blood. About time, right? We're about to finish up Season 1 (the huz is watching as well, but I suspect for different reasons than mine) and I already have season 2 qued up on the netflix. But what am I going to do when i get through all of that? Netflix just let me add season 3 to my que despite not having a release date, but no release date! On top of that we don't have cable or internet, so I'd have to watch it elsewhere if I got caught up to the current season, so I need to start figuring out how to do that.

Side note, when i typed "true blood" into weheartit the rollingstone cover image i had heard of but never seen popped up, holy undead vampire craziness, that's a photo...

Oh please oh please oh please!
Once again one of the great blogs that i follow is giving away a silhouette! gah, this little dream would be the most awesomest greatest thing ever. I just can't imagine just how great it would be to make my cards with it. Not to mention the great options with the iron on transfers and vinyl. I would absolutely love one of these machines! So pardon my post that is obviously just a ploy to get my hands on one of these babies!

blow up your tv
WFPK was playing the Avett Brothers cover of this song last night. The huz and I have fallen in love...
"Blow up your tv,
Throw away your paper,
Move to the country,
Build you a home,
Plant a little garden,
Eat a lot of peaches,
Try to find Jesus,
On your own."
love it!

so mom and dad are keeping the dogs outside during the day now. no fret, the spoiled rotten pooches aren't being left outside high and dry! you see, to protect their precious paws from the elements mom enlisted my handyman husband to build a doghouse. not just any doghouse mind you, she found photos online and then put her contractor to work. (to see the inspiration, check this out; or view the image gallery). so without further ado.... the building process:
